Buying a Home in The Legends

Fewer homes, better ones, and a straight answer on each.

Be Specific About the View

If the Bridger Mountain views are why you are looking here, say so at the start and be specific about it.

Some lots back directly to the mountains. Most do not. Plenty have a perfectly good view that is partly interrupted by the house opposite, which reads very differently in a photograph taken from the right angle than it does standing in the kitchen. The difference between those lots is worth real money and it is the single thing most likely to leave you disappointed if nobody raises it.

Three Kinds of Home, and They Suit Different Lives

People describe The Legends as a family neighborhood and stop there, which is why buyers wanting less house often never look.

Large family homes, toward the upper end of roughly $905,000 to $2.9 million. Townhomes, which sold from $630,000 to $945,000, mostly retiree-owned already. And smaller single family homes, some of them single-story, which is the group people miss entirely and is often the right answer if you want your own door without the scale.

If stairs are a factor now or likely to become one, ask for single-story by name rather than assuming a townhome is the only option.

The Trade You Are Making

The lots are small, the backyards are small, and the neighbors are closer than people expect at this price. That is the cost of the square footage and the location, and whether it bothers you is personal.

It bothered me enough to buy across the road in Bridger Creek, where the trade runs the other way: more privacy, a golf course, trails, and a street that skews heavily retiree. Plenty of buyers I respect weighed it the opposite way and were right to. If walkability and the mountains are what you are after, The Legends is the better of the two and I will say so.

How I work with buyers is on the Strategic Buying Method™, which starts with working out what the move is actually for. If you are coming from out of state, read this first. More on the neighborhood here, or tell me what you are looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all the homes in The Legends have mountain views?

No. Some lots back directly to the Bridgers and most do not, and plenty have a view that is partly interrupted by the house opposite. It is worth being specific about this from the start, because it is the thing most likely to disappoint if nobody raises it.

Are there single-story homes in The Legends?

Yes, among the smaller single family homes, and they are the group buyers most often miss. If stairs matter, ask for them by name rather than assuming a townhome is the only option.

The Legends and Creekwood

What buying a home looks like in The Legends and Creekwood

A walkable family neighborhood right under the M, with Bridger Mountain views.

The Legends is bigger homes on smaller lots, built for families who want to walk everywhere. No golf course. What it has instead is the Bridgers, straight out the window, and some lots that back right up to them.

The full name on a plat is Legends at Bridger Creek, which is worth knowing because it is how it shows up on a listing and it is easy to confuse with Bridger Creek itself across the road. They are two different neighborhoods.
